History

In History we focus on developing our children’s understanding of important events, both in the wider world and their own local area, as well as their skills as historians. They begin in the Foundation Stage and  KS1 by understanding what the ‘past’ means and looking at events and people from recent history. Children will then develop a secure understanding of events in British History in chronological order as well as civilisations from the ancient world. They will develop their skills as historians throughout their time at Lakes by analysing a range of primary and secondary sources.

Our rolling programme topics are led by either historical or geographical units.
