Year 6 SAT’s Support

A Parent’s guide to KS2 SATs 2020

Year 6 children will take their SAT tests in the week of Monday 11th May – Thursday 14th May. The children take tests in English and Mathematics. The tests are sent away to be marked and the papers and results are sent back to school before the Summer holiday.
How to help your child succeed

  • Make sure they get enough sleep.
  • Make sure they eat breakfast.
  • Don’t try and frighten them into revising.
  • Encourage them to ask the teacher if they are unsure about anything.
  • Explain that the SAT’s are a way of showing what they know.

REMEMBER THEY CAN’T FAIL!

Encourage your child to be confident about their ability to do well. Playing is important – children should not be stopped from living their lives as normal during test week. Support your child by working through the revision guides.
