At Lakes Primary School, pupils in Year 1 take part in weekly Yogabug sessions. Yogabugs is the largest children’s yoga-inspired activity in the UK. The classes bring stories to life through specially developed moves inspired by yoga. Our children love these sessions and have so far enjoyed stories linked to their seaside topic. For the academic year 2018-2019, we are using the Impact and Change educational programme which offers 40% improvement in 5 key areas:

  • Level at which the child interacts with other children
  • Child’s level of confidence
  • Child’s ability to concentrate and listen
  • Child’s ability to express themselves positively
  • Child’s range of motions of the joints
  • Child’s level of co-ordination skills
  • Child’s level of overall fitness
  • Child’s ability to respond well to instructions
  • Child’s ability to respect the needs of others
  • Child’s level of overall health and wellbeing
